Advanced Visual Welding Inspection

This course is designed for experienced CWIs, QC personnel, instructors, supervisors or individuals pursuing the AWS Senior CWI Certification or those who desire more in-depth understanding of the many facets of welding inspection. During the course each individual will use job specifications, codes and other governing documents to determine inspection requirements, develop inspection plans and interpret acceptance criteria. Individuals will learn how to develop weld tracking documentation and prepare basic spreadsheets in the MS Excel program. The attendee will be auditing welding procedures and welder certifications to various codes, determining applicable mechanical test requirements and assessing results for validity. The attendee will be working in the classroom, the mechanical testing lab and an actual fabrication shop environment.
